Gosh polish review in ‘Blue Balloon’ and ‘Wild Lilac’

I’m absolutely loving Gosh’s nail polish, these two colours especially!

Here’s the description of these polishes that the Gosh website posted

“CREAMY COLORS

Quick drying, glossy, strong

The perfect nail lacquer is developed on the basis of the most recent cosmetic and environmental know-how within its type of products. GOSH Nail Lacquer has a consistency that is easy to apply. Well covering, strong, and with a beautiful shiny and lasting finish. Formaldehyde and Toulene- free.”

My main notes on the polishes:

  1. Creamy. I always hate when polishes are too runny, and it can be difficult to use a thicker polish. Thankfully, these polishes are at the sweet spot in the middle.
  2. Opaque. There is nothing worse than a polish that looks so pretty in the bottle but takes coat after coat after coat after coat until it looks the same as the bottle. With these polishes, however, you only need one coat to get the same look as in the bottle.
  3. Brush size. Although I normally prefer the brushes on the Nicole by OPI polishes (image of Nicole brush via Google on the right) I really enjoy the brushes on these. You don’t get any streaks with this brush and it’s not to big nor to small. Here’s what the brush looks like after the polish has been wiped off with a tissue
  4. Chipless. These polishes are good for not chipping, when used with a top and bottom coat it lasted me a week before I got any chips.
  5. Smell. We all know nail polish smells bad from the chemicals in it, but these polishes are quite good in the scent area. They do have a bad smell, but it’s very faint.
  6. Less chemicals. This goes along with the smell in a way, these polishes are formaldehyde and toulene- free
  7. Dry time. These polishes aren’t an instant quick dry, but they don’t take forever to dry. I’d say it took around a minute to two minutes for the nails to dry completely.
  8. True colour. I figured I should add this in even though the issue doesn’t happen a lot, but after being applied these colours looked the same on my nails as in the bottle.

Honestly, I have nothing bad to say about these polishes. I suggest you all to try at least one bottle of these, and I hope to get more for my self in the future!

Neapolitan Ice-Cream Eye Tutorial: Cream, Pink, and Brown Matte Eyeshadows

This is the first time I’m trying out BH Cosmetics, and I read good things about some of their affordable individual matte shadows (they’re an amazing $0.98 per 26mm MAC-sized pan!), so I’m doing a look using all matte shades. Usually, metallics tend to be pretty good quality, so the real test is usually the matte shades.

And so far so good! The finished look has a very velvety, soft-focus finish which would be good if you have dry skin or lines around your lids. This is also a good texture for work or school, as you can get away with more colors when you’re using matte textures.

Just make sure you apply a good eye shadow base so the pigments will adhere to your lids properly, since they tend to fade or dust off easily.

Step 1: Pack a dark brown to the outer 1/3 of the lids, and run it along the outer half of the lower lash line as well.

—

Step 2: In the center of the lids, pack on a bright medium pink matte shadow. Here, I found using my fingers allowed me to get the color on more intensely, but if you want to do that, make sure your fingers are clean and oil free or you could ruin your matte shadows.

Step 3: To finish, I applied a soft pale taupe to the inner corners of the lids, and then used a fluffy blending brush to apply the first deep brown shadow along the socket line, fading inwards. This gives definition and contour. [Tip: Matte shades are pretty good for defining the socket line if you have hooded or mono-lids.]

Step 4: Along the upper and lower lash line, I ran a metallic brown pencil (any brand will do) for some definition. Then I finished by curling lashes and applying black mascara.

I’m testing Thierry Mugler’s Metamorphose mascara and I have to say I’m really impressed with it so far. The annoying thing is that I got this tube free in a fragrance coffret and I can’t replace it when I run out. Bleh.

ADORE this look.
